CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Charlotte County Fire and EMS were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on SR-31 just north of Bermont Road around 4:30 p.m. on April 27. The vehicle was an old school bus transporting watermelons. The bus began smoking when the driver pulled over to the shoulder of the road. ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating after four people were struck, one of them fatally, overnight on state Road 408 in Orange County. The FHP said the crash happened at Mile Marker 21 in the eastbound lanes of state Road 408 around 3:19 a.m. Troopers said two SUVs were stopped in the center lane due to a previous crash, and the drivers and passengers of the SUVs had exited their vehicles and were standing between them.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Daytona Beach Fire Department responded to a three-vehicle accident in Daytona Beach on Sunday that left one vehicle overturned with two people trapped inside. When DBFD arrived on the scene, located on West International Speedway Boulevard near the Clyde Morris Intersection, firefighters immediately stabilized the vehicle and began extrication and patient care. An investigation is underway in Miami after a pedestrian was killed in a crash early Sunday morning, police said. According to Miami Police, at around 1:50 a.m., officers arrived at 7900 N. Miami Avenue after receiving reports of a crash involving a pedestrian. Once at the scene, officers found a woman suffering from serious injuries.
