A lady motorcyclist died after she was hit by a 78-year-old driver who failed to see her. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man died Sunday night after pointing a gun at police officers, which led to an officer-involved shooting. According to the agency, AS, 28, was waving a gun while “holding his girlfriend against her will” when the police were called around 7:45 p.m. JSO said officers had a description of S’s vehicle from a similar incident that occurred two days prior, when his aunt called police. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash in Walton County on Sunday. The crash, which happened on County Road 185, 300 feet west of Padgett Farm Road, involved a 36-year-old woman from Bonifay, Florida, driving an SUV. Troopers said the SUV was traveling westbound on County Road 185 when the vehicle drifted onto the north shoulder. The driver overcorrected, causing the SUV to overturn. According to a news release, as the vehicle was turning, the driver was ejected.

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Fort Lauderdale. It happened along the 100 block of Southwest Third Avenue.
