Escambia County fire crews put out the fire and pulled one person from the burning 5th wheel camper. That person was pronounced dead on scene.  22-year-old Baker man was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash in Santa Rosa County Thursday night. It happened around 9:45 p.m. on Highway 4 west of Reeder Rd. FHP says the 22-year-old man was traveling eastbound on Highway 4 in his pickup truck, approaching Reeder Road, when he drove off the roadway for unknown reasons. The truck collided with two culverts and overturned. The crash ejected the man from his truck. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

A man was arrested Thursday after deputies say he ran over a 70-year-old woman on the beach and left the scene. A driver who fled after nearly hitting a Sweetwater Police officer was taken into custody after crashing and bailing out Thursday night, officials said. Sweetwater Police officials said the incident began when the officer stopped to assist with a crash as he was heading home. When they arrived at a home on Southeast 169th Avenue in Ocklawaha just after 1 a.m., Marion County Fire Rescue crews found flames shooting out of the house’s roof.
