Photo by: (WPEC) The Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) had a busy evening after it responded to two car wrecks on Friday. The first crash happened at around 6:53 p.m. near N. Congress Ave. Upon arrival, firefighters found a vehicle with heavy damage that had crashed into a power pole. One person was still in the car, and PBCFR had to extricate them from the vehicle. While the extrication was taking place, care was also being delivered to the person.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers investigated a deadly crash on Florida’s Turnpike Saturday morning. The crash happened just before 6 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the toll road near Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac. It led troopers to shut down the highway while they investigated. The Delray Beach Police Department reported around 7 p.m. that Military Trail was closed in both directions, just north of Atlantic Avenue because of the two-vehicle wreck. The police department provided some details about the collision, a spokesperson confirmed that one person died in the crash and the other driver involved is OK. Video sent to CBS12 News

Police are investigating a shooting in a West Miami-Dade neighborhood that left a woman dead and triggered a search for the gunman responsible. Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office units responded to the scene of the incident at a duplex along the 300 block of Southwest 79th Avenue on Friday afternoon. A Bradenton woman was killed after she collided with a “Do Not Enter” sign after flying off her motorcycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Just after 6:30 p.m. on Friday, the 37-year-old was traveling south on North Honore Avenue, approaching a curve north of Athletes Drive in Sarasota. The woman veered out of the lane and flew off her motorcycle. FHP said the motorcyclist collided with a “Do Not Enter” sign. Despite wearing a helmet, she died at the scene.
