Fire breaks out at Lee County house, homeowner just bought property

A fire broke out at a Fort Myers home on Sunday. According to the fire department, the homeowner just bought the property early this week. The Fort Myers Fire Department and Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District responded to a two-story structure fire. Crews say the fire started in the kitchen, and when they arrived, they found flames and heavy smoke. The flames were quickly put out, and no one was found inside the home. No injuries were reported.

Shooting investigation underway in South Gulf Cove neighborhood

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a domestic shooting in the South Gulf Cove neighborhood. Dog dies in Hernando County house fire

photo by: wfla A dog died after a home caught fire on Sunday, according to Hernando County Fire Rescue. Around 3:30 p.m., rescuers were called to the 1500 block of Virginia Lee Circle. On arrival, they said that they found the fire in the kitchen and pantry area of the home. No one was home at the time but rescuers did discover a dog inside. Efforts were made to resuscitate the dog but, according to HCFR, it died shortly after.

Delray Beach crash kills 90-year-old 3 months after collision

A late-morning crash killed 90-year-old passenger ST three months after being hit by a 2024 Lexus-ES350. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the Lexus decided to turn left into a plaza veering into the right of way of 56-year-old RR’s 2025 Toyota Camry which was driving northbound. This all happened on Nov. 5 at 11:30 a.m. off of Jog Road, north of Lake Ida Road. The Lexus driver, 83-year-old RS and passenger, 81-year-old DS, didn’t sustain any injuries.
