
90-year-old man arrested for striking Vero Beach police officer with his car
A 90-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly struck a Vero Beach police officer who was conducting traffic control for a city half marathon event on Sunday. According to the arrest affidavit, while conducting traffic control at Ocean Drive and Beachland Boulevard, the officer attempted to stop a blue sedan from entering the intersection because it posed a danger to the runners. The driver, identified as 90-year-old BC, refused to stop and struck the officer multiple times with his vehicle.
