A man was arrested on Saturday for attempting to wreck a truck while a woman was driving, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announced. Crews responded around 8:30 a.m. Monday to a home off Montano Ave. in Spring Hill. HCFR said firefighters contained the flames to the garage and rescued three cats, who were unharmed. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after the passenger in a car was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Lake County early Sunday morning. According to FHP, a 2024 Chevy Malibu traveling eastbound on County Road 48 (Leesburg Highway) approaching the intersection of County Road 33 failed to stop at a stop sign and ran off the roadway. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a Sunday morning fatal crash on North Pine Hills Road in Orange County. FHP said the driver of a 2010 Honda Civic traveling southbound on North Pine Hills Road lost control while negotiating a curve near Balboa Drive. The Civic then ran off the roadway and struck a concrete utility pole. The driver, a 20-year-old Orlando man, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
