A Pinellas Park man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after fatally shooting his wife on Thursday morning. According to police, officers responded to a reported shooting at 6301 58th St N #404 around 9:20 AM. Upon arrival, they found the suspect, Evangelos Mitrakos, detained at the scene. A man accused of an antisemitic attack in Ponta Vedra Beach nearly two years ago is expected to be sentenced Friday. Noah Amato was 17 years old during the attack in 2022. Deputies say he hit another teenager in the face and fired a gun near the other boy’s head. There are other crimes Amato is accused of beyond that one case. After a man was shot and killed in his car at a grocery store in West Palm Beach, police say they arrested the person responsible on Thursday afternoon. The West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) said on August 23 at around 7 p.m., a ShotSpotter gunshot alert reported eight rounds were fired on Tamarind Avenue, off 20th Street. A tractor-trailer fire shut down all lanes on southbound Interstate 75 in Broward County on Friday morning. One lane reopened about 30 minutes later, and by 8 a.m., the scene had cleared. A nearly year-long investigation of a fatal hit-and-run in Fort Myers has led to a woman’s arrest. According to the Fort Myers Police Department, on Sept. 24, 2023, police recovered a damaged bicycle in the southbound span of the Caloosahatchee Bridge.
