Chiefland woman dies when SUV strikes trees.

A Chiefland woman died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash in rural Levy County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident occurred at midnight on County Road 347 south of Clayton Road, which is about 11 miles north of Cedar Key. The woman, age 50, was driving an SUV north on CR 347 when her vehicle traveled off the road and hit several trees.

First responders with Levy County Fire Rescue declared the woman dead on the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the FHP report on the accident.
