Parma boy, 8, Ohio woman die in New Year’s Eve crash in Florida, reports say.

An 8-year-old boy, reportedly from Parma, is among two dead in a single-vehicle crash Sunday that also left three other people, two from Northeast Ohio, seriously injured.

WOIO Channel 19 reports that an aunt of the boy confirmed he had died in the crash in Calhoun County, Florida. A news release from the Florida Highway Patrol did not name the victims.

The Highway Patrol says in the news release that a 2007 Buick four-door sedan with five people inside was driving east on Florida 20 just before 3 p.m. Sunday when it went off the right side of the road while entering a curve. The driver, a 36-year-woman from Leavittsburg, Ohio, overcorrected and lost control of the car, eventually crashing into a ditch and flipping over multiple times.

All but one person was thrown from the vehicle, the patrol says. A 56-year-old woman from Ohio died in the crash, but the patrol did not say what town she is from. The driver and a 78-year-old woman from Blountstown, Fla., are in critical condition, and a 58-year-old man from Mogadore is in serious condition, reports say.

No other details were available late Monday.
