Clay County crash claims life of 23-year-old motorcyclist

A 23-year-old motorcyclist died after he was ejected from his vehicle in a Clay County crash on Sunday.

Around 1:30 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said that a 47-year-old Orange Park man was driving a sedan north on State Road 21.

As the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Burwick Avenue, troopers said, the 23-year-old man on a motorcycle was headed south on SR-21.

The motorcyclist crashed into the sedan’s passenger side, causing him to be thrown off the vehicle.

The motorcyclist died from his injuries, and the other driver suffered minor injuries.
