Cyclist killed after crash in Fort Walton Beach

A cyclist is dead after being hit by a car in Fort Walton Beach on Monday night.

It happened just before 10:30 p.m. on North Beal Extension, south of Estival Street.

Florida Highway Patrol says a 59-year-old Fort Walton Beach man was riding a bike in the middle of the road, when he was hit from behind by a car.

He later died at the hospital.

No other details were released.
