Deadly crash blocks right lane on Florida's Turnpike South, causing traffic delays

A deadly vehicle crash backed up traffic and blocked a right lane on Florida’s Turnpike South in Indian River County on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

According to Florida 511, the crash was before Mile Marker 176 and was causing traffic to be backed up before Mile Marker 179.

A road ranger was on the scene, and travelers are advised to either move over or slow down, Florida 511 says.

Photos from 511 showed a semi-truck on the shoulder, as traffic is heavily congested and backed up.

At this time, it’s unclear what led to the crash and how many people have died.
