DeLand man killed in crash with fence, trees after running off I-4

A 38-year-old DeLand man died late Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 4 in Volusia County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck happened around 10 p.m. on I-4 east, west of DeBary Avenue.

The FHP said the man was driving a 2018 Honda Civic when the vehicle left the road for an unknown reason and struck a fence and two trees.

The man, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an FHP crash report.

No other details have been released.
