A 33-year-old Fort Walton Beach man was arrested for attempted homicide and fraud impersonation after allegedly stabbing a man in the abdomen during an altercation at a Waterfront Rescue Mission in Escambia County on Sunday, according to deputies.
Deputies say units were called to the mission at 350 W. Herman St. in reference to a stabbing victim.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen and provided aid until EMS arrived shortly afterward, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
Witnesses at the scene described the suspect as a white man with a goatee and red hair. The suspect was later identified as J F.
Witnesses said F approached the victim and started a verbal altercation that became physical, resulting in the victim being stabbed, according to deputies.
Officers searched the area and located the suspect at Lurton Street and Hopkins Street, where he was detained without further incident, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
F is being held in Escambia County Jail with no bond.
