Deputy shooting under investigation in Broward

 A shooting involving a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy occurred Sunday evening in unincorporated Broward County, authorities confirmed.

According to BSO, the agency received a call around 5:35 p.m. about a man walking around the Franklin Park area, in the 2500 block of Northwest Ninth Court, waving a gun.

Deputies responded to the scene and made contact with the man, ordering him to put his hands up. At some point during the encounter, shots were fired by a deputy, BSO confirmed.

Video of the shooting was captured live on social media.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was hurt.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
