A Jacksonville man died Sunday night after being hit by two cars on Philips Highway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 9:30 p.m., a 40-year-old man crossed Philips Highway, near Energy Center Drive, from the outside shoulder. As he crossed the road, he stepped into the path of an SUV driving in that direction, causing the SUV to hit him, FHP said.
A short time after, a second “unknown recreational vehicle” struck the man, but left the scene, according to FHP.
The man died at the scene, FHP said.
On Friday night, a man in his late 20s died after he was struck by a GMC Yukon while attempting to cross Philips Highway.
