A teen was killed in a crash that blocked lanes on Interstate 95 in Broward County early Tuesday morning, according to officials.

The crash happened around 1:20 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said that a 17-year-old driver of a Subaru BRZ was heading southbound on I-95 when he lost control of his vehicle, veered towards the right, collided with a guardrail and went into a ditch.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released but officials said he is from Palm Coast.

FHP’s traffic website said the off-ramp and at least one other lane were blocked.

An investigation into the crash remains active.
