An elderly woman died in a Westside two-vehicle collision on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the woman, believed to be in her 80s or 90s, was driving a SUV north on Roosevelt Boulevard near the St. Johns Avenue intersection.
She attempted a left turn onto St. Johns Ave. when a man in a small pickup truck hit the SUV.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital, where the woman died. The man suffered minor injuries.
JSO said it was too early in the investigation to tell which driver had the right-of-way at the time of the crash.
The man was wearing a seatbelt, and the woman was not, JSO said.
This makes the 87th traffic fatality this year.
