An employee died in an accident at BAE Systems Jacksonville shipyard on Saturday, according to a statement sent from the company.
A spokesperson said the accident happened while the worker was conducting maintenance on a self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT). Read the full statement below:
According to its website, BAE Systems Maritime Solutions Jacksonville is a full-service shipyard with welding, pipe fitting, mechanical, and fabrication capabilities.
