Heavy flames tore through a single-story home in Escambia County on Monday morning, leaving the house a total loss, according to Escambia County Fire Rescue.

Escambia County Fire Rescue responded to the house fire on the 4500 block of Martha Avenue at about 3:49 a.m. and arrived to find heavy flames showing from the home.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire and brought it under control by 4:13 a.m, according to Escambia County Fire Rescue.

Despite the quick response and rapid water application, the fire caused extensive damage throughout the home, resulting in a complete loss. No injuries were reported.

Escambia County EMS, Florida Power & Light, and Fire and Emergency Services Gulf Coast L34 assisted at the scene.

The Florida Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations is investigating the cause of the fire.
