2 men and 1 woman were found dead on Thursday morning
A friend and a family member told News4JAX that two of the three people who were fatally stabbed Thursday morning on the Westside were a 27-year-old woman and her stepfather.
Lt. Chris Stephens with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit said officers responded just before 4 a.m. to Exodus Way after reports that someone had been stabbed.
Stephens said the officers found a man suffering from a potential stab wound, and paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he died.
Stephens said officers kept looking around the area and found another man and a woman at a nearby home, both dead from potential stab wounds.
Stephens said the three adults are related, and it appears a fight might have happened in the home, and then one of the men tried to get to a neighbor’s home for help.
That’s when police were called, he said.
A neighbor captured video that shows blood smeared on a porch, door, and doorbell.
Stephens said one of the men was in his late 40s, the other was in his 30s and the woman was in her 20s.
“I’m in a lot of shock, to be honest. My mind is blank,” G said. “I feel so much guilt for not being able to open the door for that person. I have medical training; I could’ve done something.”
A neighbor who asked not to be identified told News4JAX reporter Briana Brownlee the deadly incident has him on edge.
“It’s sad because my wife comes in and out. I don’t drive anymore, but I’m to the point now — I just told her this morning when she leaves here and then she’s coming back that night, I want to know what time she’s coming in where I can be standing at the door with my gun,” he said. “I want to protect her. I don’t want nobody to hurt her.”
Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call JSO at 904-630-0500 or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
