Fatal accident near Fort Myers on Friday

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 17-year-old female, driving a 2015 Ford Focus, was traveling south on U.S. 41 when she collided with a 59-year-old man.

The currently unidentified man, was attempting to cross the southbound lanes when the collision happened on Friday, September 4, at 8:52 p.m.

He sustained critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital, later to be pronounced dead.

According to FHP, the crash remains under investigation.
