FHP: 68-year-old man struck, killed by tractor-trailer in Florida county road.

One pedestrian is dead after being struck during a collision in Alachua County on Tuesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 68-year-old man was walking in CR 232 on the eastbound lane around 1 a.m. when a tractor-trailer driver was traveling east on CR 232.

The FHP said the front of the vehicle collided with the pedestrian, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

The tractor-trailer driver was a 60-year-old man with a 30-year-old passenger, and neither suffered any injuries during the accident.
