FHP dashcam video shows chase on Turnpike ending with suspects' vehicle crashing

Newly released dash camera video captured the moment when a pursuit on the Florida Turnpike ended with a suspect’s car crashing into a truck.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, on Friday, a trooper was responding to a crash and on his way, he noticed a dark green Genesis G70 traveling on the Turnpike as it changed lanes at a high rate of speed.

An arrest report said the trooper started following the vehicle and activated their emergency lights, which caused the driver to come to a stop.

The trooper then told the driver to put his vehicle in park and to roll down the windows, the report said. The driver refused to comply and drove off, starting the pursuit.

During the pursuit, the trooper attempted to perform a PIT maneuver on the suspect’s car to stop it, but the driver continued to drive, the report said.

In the dash camera video, the suspect’s vehicle was seen veering off the roadway, going into a construction zone and crashing into a concrete truck.

After the vehicle crashed, the report said, the trooper pulled out his gun and told the driver to get out of the car with his hands up, which the driver did.

The driver, identified as 23-year-old AF was placed on the ground and taken into custody, the report said.

As he was being arrested, the report said, the trooper noticed that F responded slowly to his questions and asked if he needed medical assistance,

F then began to collapse on the ground and had a seizure, prompting the trooper to give him Narcan, but that didn’t revive him.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and took F to Aventura Hospital, where he currently remains.

Fis facing 26 criminal charges, including leaving the scene of an accident/property damage, DUI with damage to property or person, and aggravated fleeing/eluding.
