FHP: Jacksonville teen dies in St. Johns County crash after walking from vehicle on I-95

An 18-year-old man is dead after Florida Highway Patrol said he left his truck after getting into an accident on I-95.

An FHP report said the initial accident involved the man running off the roadway onto the shoulder near mile marker 316 before veering back to the left across all southbound lanes and off the left shoulder, striking the center guardrail.

The man was killed by a tractor trailer after leaving his truck and “walking from East to West into the southbound travel lanes of I-95,” FHP said.

The man was pronounced at the scene, according to FHP.
