Fire breaks out at closed Tampa dog-friendly sports bar

Tampa Fire Rescue responded after a fire broke out at what appeared to be the recently closed Pups Pub Sports Bar on Wednesday.

The fire erupted at W Kennedy Blvd and S. Westland Avenue, during which both directions of Kennedy Boulevard were closed while crews worked to subdue the flames.

Video sent in anonymously through Report It, as well as pictures posted to TFR’s social media, show flames emerging from the structure as crews worked quickly to get things under control.

There were no reported injuries.

The business has been closed since June after losing a legal battle with the state over dog-friendly indoor operations.
