Florida man arrested for touching himself, groping EMS paramedic during transport: report

NAPLES, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man was arrested last week after he allegedly touched an EMS paramedic inappropriately while he was being taken to the hospital.

According to an arrest report obtained by NBC affiliate WBBH, police were called to the Cancer Center Alliance of Naples after they received “multiple reports” that a man refused to leave the building and locked himself in the bathroom.

When police arrived, they found 34-year-old Frederick Lloyd Day in the bathroom, standing next to a pile of paper towels.

WBBH said Day had been reportedly complaining about foot pain and claimed that he was bitten by a bug.

Collier County EMS arrived to take him to Naples Comprehensive Health Downtown Hospital for treatment. However, NCH staff did not allow the 34-year-old to enter due to “disorderly and destructive behavior,” WBBH said.

The arrest report shows that officers saw Day strapped into a stretcher with a “noticeable erect penis showing through his basketball shorts.” The report goes on to show that Day was “touching himself inappropriately” while the Collier County EMS paramedic took his blood, WBBH said.

The paramedic told him to stop and take his hands out of his pants, and that’s when he attempted to reach for the victim’s legs.

WBBH said the victim told Day, “Do not touch me,” but Day looked into their eyes and continued touching himself inappropriately and also touched the victim’s upper thigh.

The victim grabbed Day’s hand and repeated, “Do not touch me.”

According to WBBH, a Naples Fire Department lieutenant saw the interaction and stated that Day continued to try and touch the victim by removing medical equipment and even unbuckled himself from the stretcher.

While on his way to the Naples Jail Center, WBBH said Day managed to move his handcuffed hands from the back to the front and unbuckled his seatbelt.

He was booked into the jail, where he was charged with battery on a specified personnel.
