Motorcyclist killed in crash on Clark Road

A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night on Clark Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened about 9 p.m. near the intersection of Jason Lee Place.

Investigators say an 18-year-old Sarasota man was riding a motorcycle east on Clark Road when an SUV heading west near Sawyer Loop Road turned in front of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle hit the right side of the SUV. The 18-year-old died at the scene, troopers say. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation, “to include the pre-crash speed” of the motorcycle, a news release said.
