Gainesville biker killed after crash in Taylor County

A 67-year-old biker lost control of his motorcycle and was killed along State Road 51 early Sunday afternoon in Taylor County.

The motorcycle was traveling south on the highway. The biker traveled from the southbound lanes across the northbound lane into the east grassy shoulder, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. The driver lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person involved in the crash, reports say.
