A two-vehicle crash in Port St. Lucie sent two vehicles leaping over a canal and crashing into bushes.

Firefighters with the St. Lucie County Fire District (SLCFD) say they responded to a two-vehicle crash at 11 p.m. Monday near the Crosstown and Rangeline intersection in Port St. Lucie.

Officials say both cars left the road, landing in the bushes, with one driver trapped in his car and one car partially submerged.

Firefighters say they set up a ground ladder to reach the opposite side of the canal, before safely extricating the victim, and carrying them across the canal in a stokes basket.

One patient was transported by ground, and the other was transported by air.
