lachua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at Taco Bell at 7410 West Newberry Road in Gainesville to reports of a man bleeding from his face.
Upon their arrival, they spoke with the man, 35-year-old RL, who had multiple bleeding scratches on his face and claimed he had been jumped before revealing that his mother attacked him.
Deputies say they spoke to his mother at the tent where the two reside, located behind the BP Gas Station at 7401 West Newberry Road.
The 66-year-old woman had multiple bruises and could barely stand, according to deputies.
L’s mother said her son attacked her inside the tent, striking her in the head and she did not contact law enforcement because she didn’t have her phone on her.
The scratches on Lawane’s face resulted from her fighting back.
L admitted to deputies that he also attacked her the day before.
He was arrested on charges of domestic felony battery upon a subject 65 years or older.
