Rollover crash on Dolphin Expressway in Miami sends 2 to hospital

Two people were hospitalized early Saturday after a single-vehicle rollover on the Dolphin Expressway near Northwest 27th Avenue, Miami Fire Rescue confirmed.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 2:20 a.m., when the SUV ended up upside down wedged between concrete barriers beneath the State Road 836 bridge.

MFR officials said crews transported both victims to a trauma center in stable condition. Their ages, genders, or identities have not been released at this time.

Traffic in the area was temporarily halted while emergency crews worked to remove the vehicle.

A crane was used to lift the SUV over the southbound barrier, and the roadway and adjacent walkway have since reopened.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and no other details were immediately released.
