Firefighters responded to the scene of a house fire Tuesday morning in the Julington Creek area, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
Around 7:18 a.m., first responders were called to a house fire on Linwood Loop. When units arrived, they found heavy fire showing from the back of the home, according to SJCFR.
Around 7:45 a.m., SJCFR said the fire was under control and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters said two cats were located during the search. One cat died, and the other was treated by crews on scene.
Officials said firefighters will remain on scene for a couple of hours to ensure there are no hotspots.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
