A 63-year-old Gainesville woman died when her SUV traveled off I-75 near mile marker 402 and collided with a tree on Monday morning.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the woman was driving a Nissan SUV northbound on I-75 at 7:30 a.m. when the vehicle traveled off the east shoulder of the road, struck a tree and overturned.
Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead on scene. A 3-month-old male infant riding in the SUV received minor injuries and was transported to UF Shands Hospital.
