A Jensen Beach man died Sunday night after his motorcycle crashed into the back of a van on Southern Boulevard in western Palm Beach County, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened about 9:49 p.m. near D Road, in the Loxahatchee area.

Investigators said Derrick Teets, 37, was riding a 2021 Honda CBR600RR motorcycle east on Southern Boulevard when he approached a 2016 Ford Transit van from behind at a high speed.

The front of the motorcycle hit the rear of the van, according to the sheriff’s office report. Teets was thrown from the motorcycle, which then slid into the median.
