Senior slams SUV through valet ramp at Miami Beach condo after brake mixup

Miami Beach police rushed to the scene of a crash just outside of a busy condo on Monday.

Video shows a dark-colored SUV that crashed into the valet ramp at Oceanside Plaza Condominium.

The building is located at 5555 Collins Ave. on Mid-Beach.

Following the crash, the SUV could be seen wedged in the concrete of the ramp and hanging off the side.

According to authorities, a senior couple was inside the SUV at the time of the crash, but no major injuries were reported.

Police said one of them “mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to strike a structural column of the condominium building.”

Both “sustained minor injuries and were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center as a precaution due to their age,” police said.
