Lady Lake woman killed when SUV strikes tree in Marion County

A 49-year-old Lady Lake woman was killed Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck happened around 9 a.m. on SE 47th Avenue near SE Highway 42.

The FHP said the woman was driving an SUV south on SE 47th Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle, traveled across the northbound lanes, into the west grass shoulder and struck a tree.

The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, an FHP crash report stated.

No other details have been released.
