Lake City man dies in collision with tree.

A 25-year-old Lake City man died Saturday afternoon when he failed to negotiate a curve on County Road 245 in Columbia County and collided with a tree.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup south on CR 245 near the SE Sharon Lane intersection at 1:50 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway on the west shoulder and crashed into a tree.

Emergency responders pronounced the man dead on scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
