Lennard HS student critical after being stabbed outside Ruskin 7-Eleven: HCSO

Lennard HS student critical after being stabbed outside Ruskin 7-Eleven

A teenager is in critical condition after being stabbed across the street from Lennard High School Monday afternoon, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

A spokesperson for Hillsborough County Public Schools confirmed that the boy is a student at the high school and said the incident happened around 30 minutes after school was dismissed.

HCSO said deputies responded to the 7-Eleven located across the street from the school at around 3 p.m. and found the teen with a stab wound to the arm.

He was taken to a local hospital and, as of 6:15 p.m. on Monday, was in critical condition.

Deputies were told that the student was stabbed during a fight that broke out on the sidewalk outside the gas station, HCSO said.

HCPS said the other person involved in the incident is not a student at any of the district schools.

The sheriff’s office said no one has been taken into custody at this time and did not release any additional information about a possible suspect or what led to the confrontation.
