Live Oak man, 89, dies in 2-vehicle collision on US 90 in Suwannee County

An 89-year-old Live Oak man died Wednesday morning when he pulled out in front of an oncoming pickup along US Highway 90 southeast of Live Oak in Suwannee County.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 49-year-old Jasper man was driving a Ford pickup east on US 90 and was approaching the intersection of 75th Drive at 7:35 a.m. when the Live Oak man, driving a Dodge pickup that was stopped at a stop sign on 75th Drive and US 90, entered the intersection and failed to yield the right-of-way to the Ford pickup. The Jasper man driving the Ford pickup collided with the left side of the Live Oak man’s Dodge pickup.

Emergency responders pronounced the Live Oak man dead on scene and transported the Jasper man to a local hospital with minor injuries.
