Man accused of DUI crash faces 6 charges in Broward.

A 36-year-old man accused of causing a crash while driving under the influence was facing six criminal charges on Wednesday in Broward County.

Records show Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies booked Michael Jerome Perez on Tuesday at the Broward County main jail in Fort Lauderdale.

Perez was with a minor when he crashed a white 2017 Honda Accord into a tree at about 2:30 a.m., on Nov. 22, in the area of North 40 Avenue and Taft Street, according to the arrest form.

Hollywood Fire Rescue personnel took Perez and the minor to Memorial Regional Hospital, according to the police report.

Records show Perez was accused of injuring the minor and faced a charge of neglecting a child with great bodily harm, a second-degree felony.

Perez was also facing two counts of DUI and serious bodily injury to another, reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, DUI with property damage, and reckless driving.

Perez was set to appear in bond court on Wednesday.

This is a developing story.
