Video shows when ex-Palmetto Bay commissioner gets shot by projectile

Former Palmetto Bay Councilman David Singer wants police to do more after he was shot in the eye with some sort of projectile.

Singer said he was shot with some sort of water pellet gun while standing in his driveway with his teen son and his friends on Friday night.

“I turned around and One of the projectiles hit me in the eye,” he said. “My son came to me and said hey, this white car sprayed projectiles, plastic BBs at the house.”

Singer spoke to Local 10 News Bridgette Matter on Tuesday.

She asked him if he thought what happened was related to some kind of high school prank.

“Not that I’m aware of,” he said. “You’d have to ask them. I mean, it could be. I heard there’s a TikTok challenge.”

Earlier this year, Singer’s son Jeremy was arrested for throwing an airhorn at a baseball teammate.

He was charged with felony battery.

In this case, Singer wants police to do more.

“I’ve always had the moral and ethical obligation when my son screws up to talk to the parents and apologize, whether it’s school or anything,” Singer said. “I’ve heard nothing from the three kids.”

Authorities have not made any arrests in this case.
