A man is accused of DUI after crashing into a “Do Not Enter” sign in Cape Coral on Sunday.
According to the Cape Coral Police Department, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Skyline Boulevard and Southwest Pine Island Road at around 3:19 a.m.
CCPD said that once on the scene, officers learned from Lee County Emergency Medical Services that a Ford Bronco, driven by Kevin Jones, 45, crashed into a “Do Not Enter” sign in the median after going through the intersection.
While talking with Jones, officers noticed signs of impairment. Officers had Jones perform field sobriety tests, during which he showed multiple signs of impairment, CCPD said.
Jones provided a breath sample, and his blood alcohol content was 0.164. He was arrested and faces charges of DUI and DUI with property damage.
