Man dead after two-car crash in North Fort Myers

A North Fort Myers man died Saturday following a crash between a sedan and pickup truck towing a trailer, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred on Friday night around 9 p.m.

A sedan traveling south on US-41, approaching Del Prado Boulevard, failed to slow down/stop in time and crashed into the trailer of the stopped pickup truck.

The driver of the sedan, a 52-year-old man, suffered critical injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead the following day.

The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
