A 52-year-old Immokalee man died after a pickup truck driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed in Hendry County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the man was a passenger in the pickup truck with 7 people inside. The vehicle was traveling north on County Road 833 (Sam Jones Trail).
Troopers said the driver lost control, and the vehicle traveled off the roadway, overturned and crashed into a fence. The crash happened around 4:27 PM Tuesday afternoon.
The Immokalee man suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Broward Health, where he was later pronounced dead, FHP said.
The driver was not injured in the crash. According to FHP, five other passengers suffered minor injuries.
Troopers said the crash is under investigation.
