The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a man at the American Golf Club in Vero Beach.
Deputies responded to a call at 6:43 p.m. from a woman claiming to have just shot her boyfriend. When law enforcement arrived at 100 Woodland Drive in Vero Beach, they discovered the victim’s body in an office at the American Golf Club.
The victim’s girlfriend is in custody and being questioned, the sheriff’s office said. They said that it appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the community.
Sheriff’s deputies, crime scene personnel and the medical examiner are all on scene. The Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Sgt. Kevin Jaworski said they are waiting on search warrants before they can process the scene.
