The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, leaving a man with serious injuries.
Deputies say the man reported at approximately 6 a.m. that he was shot in the thigh while standing outside the Valero gas station near the Black Diamond Sports Lounge on Highway 29, across from International Paper.
According to ECSO, the man stated he did not hear a shot or see anyone, but suddenly felt pain in his leg. Deputies were unable to locate any shell casings at the scene.
Escambia County EMS transported the man to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken femur. He has not provided additional details to investigators, according to deputies.
