One person is dead and another injured after a fatal stabbing at Country Run Park on Sunday.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Country Run Park around 6:56 p.m. after multiple 911 calls reported a stabbing near Pepperfield Drive.
Deputies arrived at the scene and learned that a dispute had occurred between a man and a woman, according to HCSO.
The man and woman both had stab wounds and were transported to a nearby hospital.
According to deputies, the woman died from her injuries. The man remains in the hospital at this time.
“This violent incident, in a place meant for families and children, is both disturbing and unacceptable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our detectives are committed to uncovering the full truth behind this tragic incident. If anyone has information that could assist in this investigation, I urge you to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.”
The investigation is ongoing.
