Man killed in Orlando Road rage shooting on East Colonial Drive, leading to 5-hour road closure.

A man is behind bars after Orlando police say he killed someone in a road rage shooting Monday.

It happened on East Colonial Drive near Lake Baldwin Lane at 6:24 a.m.

Nicholas Carrasquillo, 26, is facing first-degree murder with a firearm.

The victim, David Sligh, was 30 years old.

“I was with the passenger and then I just heard like five gunshots,” an Uber driver said who wanted to protect his identity.

The Uber driver’s dash cam video captured sounds of at least five rounds of gunfire.

“I just stayed quiet because I didn’t want her to freak out,” the Uber driver said.

He said as he kept driving, he saw a white car cutting lanes of traffic before coming to a stop in front of a pole.

“Me as an Uber driver, I’m always taking care of how I drive and everything because I know times is crazy right now. People, they don’t think they just react and that’s my fear when I’m driving,” the Uber driver said.

OPD said Carrasquillo stayed at the scene before he was arrested.

Officers found Sligh with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Westbound lanes on Colonial Drive were closed for several hours until the white car was towed away.

Several bullet holes were visible in the driver-side door.

A second car was towed away for evidence.
